With over 32,000 vacancies across tracks like Pointsman and Track Maintainer, candidates can now access their hall tickets for the revised February 2026 exam schedule. Stay updated on dates, refund policies, and official shift timings.

The massive logistical undertaking to fill over 32,000 vacancies within the Indian Railways has reached a critical milestone as the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) officially released the admit cards for the 2026 Group D examination cycle. This announcement marks the final stretch of a recruitment drive that began in late 2024, signaling a major boost to the national carrier's workforce. Candidates who have been awaiting their specific shift details can now access the official portal to download their hall tickets and confirm their designated exam cities using their unique enrollment or registration credentials.

The journey to this examination phase has been a year-long process, originating with the initial notification issued on December 28, 2024. Following a rigorous application window that closed in March 2025, the recruitment board has meticulously managed a candidate pool vying for 32,438 Level 1 positions. These roles are pivotal to the safety and efficiency of the rail network, encompassing vital technical and field positions such as Pointsman-B, which accounts for over 5,000 openings, and the critical Track Maintainer Grade IV, which sees the largest intake with 13,187 available posts. Other specialized roles being filled include assistants in Bridge, Track Machine, and Signal & Telecommunications (S&T) wings.

While the examination period originally commenced in late November 2025, the RRB has issued a revised schedule to streamline the testing process for the remaining cohorts. The upcoming sessions are set to take place on January 8th and 9th, followed by a concentrated series of dates in early February, specifically spanning February 2nd through 6th and concluding on February 9th and 10th, 2026. This staggered approach ensures that the Computer Based Test (CBT) infrastructure can accommodate the high volume of applicants while maintaining the integrity of the competitive environment.

Administratively, the RRB has maintained a transparent fee structure, emphasizing inclusivity by providing reduced rates for SC/ST, EBC, female, and transgender candidates. In a move to encourage genuine participation, the board has reiterated its refund policy, where a significant portion of the application fee—up to ₹400 for general applicants and the full ₹250 for reserved categories—will be reimbursed to those who successfully appear for the CBT. This policy underlines the government's intent to minimize financial barriers for serious job seekers across the country.

As the examination dates approach, the focus now shifts to the strict security protocols and administrative guidelines mandated by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Candidates are urged to verify their personal details on the downloaded admit cards and ensure they adhere to the reporting times mentioned for their respective centers. This recruitment drive is more than just a hiring cycle; it represents a significant effort to modernize the railway’s human resources and strengthen the foundational maintenance and operations sectors that keep the nation’s lifeline running. The successful conclusion of these exams will pave the way for a new generation of railway personnel to enter the service, ensuring the continued safety and reliability of Indian rail travel.
